When we think of investments we often think of money and material things. We all have “investments” that we have made. Purchasing a home or other real estate is an investment. Buying stock in a company is an investment. Some of these investments pay dividends yet others we lose money. It really is a risk. Some people call it a game, and may the best one win.
Thankfully we have the best stock broker in the universe. His advice? Invest in heavenly treasures. You’ll never lose.
Jesus said in Matthew 6:19-21, Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, wherethieves do not break through nor steal; For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
What are these treasures? Time spent in the Word of God and in prayer and investing in the lives of other people such as our families, co-workers, and neighbors.
Remember, where you put your treasure is where your heart will be. Don’t think you will make heaven your home if you haven’t made the proper investments.
